I happened to find Kev’s YouTube channel while I was looking up how to do a water change in my 75-gallon tank. I’ve loved fish since I was a kid, and although I took a break from the hobby, I started again because my wife was interested. I’ve watched many cichlid videos on YouTube, but none compare to Kev’s channel — he’s straightforward and always gets right to the point, saving me so much time. His book is just as clear and helpful. After watching his videos, I decided to order his book, and I’m so happy I did. It brings together all the scattered info from his channel into one handy resource — perfect for someone like me who doesn’t want to spend ages searching for the right video. It covers everything you need to care for African cichlids, especially haps and peacocks, and I couldn’t put it down — I read it from start to finish, which I haven’t done with a book in a long time because it’s so engaging and easy to understand. I wish he had a tank with Mbuna and included more about them, too. I also hope Kev writes another book someday — maybe about different African and American cichlids, their names, and care tips (that might be a tall order, haha). For the average pet store visitor, it’s really tough to find reliable information about fish. places sell them as “assorted African cichlids,” and it’s almost impossible to tell males from females when they’re still small. And since not everyone orders fish online (I never have), I hope Kev can share more of his knowledge on how to overcome challenges like this. Anyway, I really hope he continues making more videos and writing more books to help aquarium hobbyists around the world.
Wow, I have now been awakened! I purchased this course cause I need information about keeping cichlids. I didn't realize how much information I would get. Just like Kevin mentions, this course is straight to the point. This course gives you everything you need to start, well worth the purchase. A+++++++++
I've kept freshwater fish before in my younger days, and I've always wondered why my tank doesn't look like the ones in books or pictures. I recently acquired a 39-gallon tank for free with fish, which had given me the itch to get back into it. This ebook has been amazong! I tried all the little tricks Kevin mentions ( poly fill, I've never known) and my tank looks amazing. The wife and kids have noticed the difference and are shocked. Thanks to Kevin for putting this together.
